This center was entrusted with missions to integrate all drug development groups under College of Medicine, dedicating its efforts in new drug development projects,
promoting cooperation between academia and industries, and assisting governmental efforts in drug development and training of research scientists. All these efforts are
conducted with a view to promote the research and development potential in drug industry, and put this University in a leading position in drug research and development. To fulfill these mission requirements, the center has eight functional units under its coordination,
namely, New Drug Exploration Group, Pharmaceutical Research Group, Pharmacological and Toxicological Evaluation Group, Drug Informatic Group, Drug Analysis Group, Chemical Synthesis Process Exploration Group and Industry-academia Promotion Group.
Drug Research Center was formally established on April 1, 2001. This center was organized based on a functional unit of Drug Development and Research Group, previously established on September 6, 1996.
